Hello, my name is Locker McDonald.

I am an Associate Licensed Counselor under the supervision of John Thorington MA, LPC-S, SRT, Dmin and I’m passionate about helping individuals learn about how their past is impacting their present.
As a trauma-informed counselor, I specialize in working with adults who have experienced various forms of trauma, including spiritual abuse, emotional neglect, relational wounds, and struggles with addictions such as sexual addiction or pornography. I integrate evidence-based modalities like EMDR and IFS with a Christian contemplative approach for clients who desire spiritual integration.
I work with adults seeking support and clinical treatment for trauma and/or addiction, particularly those who want to maintain their faith while navigating healing. I aim to create a safe, compassionate space for individuals working through issues like anxiety, identity, relational struggles, and addiction—including those who have been hurt by previous religious or family experiences
I do not impose my views on clients who do not share my beliefs. Still, for those seeking the Christian perspective, I integrate a Gospel-centered theology and contemplative practices with evidence-based modalities, creating a space to notice the redemptive nature of God’s grace and presence in our lives while using effective treatment methods to bring about healing and wholeness.
